I was feeling all sorts of ocean waves and paradise and this song gets inspired initially from yet another breakup… But something was different about this breakup. Something was finally discovered that wasn’t before. I would use alcohol, food, and even love….for fulfillment, to feel good, to feel comfort. A comfort addict. I hadn’t been single my whole adult life it felt like and had not actually done the work of getting comfortable in my own skin. And it takes more than just being sober… it takes daily effort to dig into a life will lived and get some true recovery one day at a time. Keep Dreaming is all about that realization that there is no perfect person, place or thing to complete you, there is no perfect buzz, etc. So Keep Dreaming. And… when I don’t understand that, I just get bashed in by the metaphorical waves.
